A processadora norte-americana de pagamentos TSYS adquiriu a participação restante de 49% na First National Merchant Solutions, uma joint venture criada com o First National Bank of Omaha há apenas oito meses.
A associação com o FNBO foi formada em abril de 2010, quando a TSYS adquiriu uma participação de 51% do controle da empresa atuante no credenciamento de estabelecimentos e processamento de transações.
Em 2009, a FNMS foi classificada, pelo The Nilson Report, como a décima maior adquirente de estabelecimentos por volume de dólares, com receita líquida de US$ 93 milhões. A empresa tem 57 anos de história na indústria de adquirência, com mais de 300 mil estabelecimentos comerciais ativos em sua carteira.
Na transação de 2009, a TSYS pagou US$ 150,5 milhões pela participação de 51%. Na operação fechada no primeiro dia deste ano, os restantes 49% da FNMS custaram cerca de US$ 169,6 milhões. A First National Merchant Solutions será rebatizada como TSYS Merchant Solutions.
